when i’m listening to various recordings of les mis, there’s this huge instrumental bit in which, until the melody line of bring him home comes back in, i always forget what’s going on

and then it hits me

and i just stop for a minute

and then i carry on

things that were fun in high school:

  • we sang a medley of stuff from poto before i knew anything about it, except that it was a love story with this singer chick and a dude in a mask
  • so i came up with my own very wrong, very convoluted version
  • a year later (i think) we sang a medley of stuff from les mis before i knew anything about it except that people were miserable and there was some little blond girl and french
  • so i came up with my own version. i can’t remember much about it, but i was convinced that javert sang ‘bring him home’ about valjean and for the l o n g e s t time i couldn’t figure out why.
